In some cases it’s possible that the CRE Suite add-in can become “Unloaded” after a Microsoft Excel update and in some cases after the initial install.
This issue generally pops up when The CRE Suite add-in does not show up in the ribbon in excel. Typically you would refer to this post in order to fix this issue - Help! i don't see the add-in in my ribbon.
If that doesn’'t work you may want to check the Load Behavior of the add in. After following the instructions in the aforementioned post you may fine this status for the load behavior -
If this occurs then there are two things to check. First, you want to check the actual Load Behavior of the add-in using the below steps
-
Go back into the Registry Editor
-
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\CREModels in the left hand side of the dialog
-
in the box to the right you should see a LoadBehavior. Sometimes the LoadBehavior is set to “0” or “2”
-
Right-click on that click modify. Change the behavior to “3”
-
Close the Registry Editor and re-open to make sure that value above is still “3”
-
Open excel and give it another try
If this doesn’t work and the Load Behavior STILL says “Unloaded” then you may need to try the below steps next.
-
Go back into the Registry Editor
-
Navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\16.0\Excel\Resiliency\DisabledItems” in the left hand side of the dialog. NOTE - “16.0” will vary based on the version of excel. You may have 12.0, 13.0, 14.0, or 15.0.
-
in the box to the right you should see a Registry Entry BELOW “Default”
-
Right click on that entry and select “Modify.” If you have multiple entries here you may need to repeat this step until you find the right one. See step 5 for verification.
- look for the Registry Entry that contains the a dialog which contains the value for “The CRE Suite Excel Add In” as can be seen in the below image
- Delete that item
- Close and re-open excel
